What about the idea of being wheeled on to say, when appropriate, "This is God's work". Needed, and not so demeaning. b. What happens next? Two things.

Very perceptive, and accurate, of the complex we find ourselves enmeshed in. I preached last Sunday on the opening words of St Paul's first - or, at least, first we've got a copy of! - letter to the early Corinthian Christians. I intend to preach a 'part two' this Sunday, and I'm writing this afternoon. Paul confronts and undermines quite a few of the 'false models' that others would like to impose upon his ministry, all of which focus around 'who OWNS what'...
