An email from a friend of mine, who works as an outreach officer for a well-known Christian denomination(one which is famous for its silence and contemplation). We aren’t able to meet up any time soon because

Work is just ridiculously full-on at the moment, fuelled more than a little by  assistant leaving and by wanting to get everything sorted by the beginning of August.

He’s been in meetings all week, and has to go to Birmingham, Bury St Edmunds and London next week:

lots of shuffling round and general mess here.

Which made me think it’s funny how hard we all have to work in order to get people to sit still and listen to God…
